What can I say? I'm a mom. I was a therapist before I got married and had my son, Miles, who's 16 now. I escaped the marriage a couple years ago (THANK GOD) and kept the kid. I had a great nightly date with Ben and Jerry, but after Miles called me boring for the 400th time, I knew I should get off the couch and do something. That's when I met the girls, and...well...I'm definitely NOT boring anymore.

Who said you can't teach an old dog new tricks! When Amy suggested pole dancing, I was like WOAH! Either I will be considered a really cool mom from Miles, or a wanna be cool mom! Luckily I take yoga, so pole dancing was not as hard as I thought! I don't think I will be taking pole dancing classes again, but at least I can say I tried it!

Miles and I had thanksgiving at Amy's house. She prepared such a wonderful meal! I am still full from all of itI! I wish I could cook as well- I think taking cooking classes from Amy is more beneficial then pole dancing classes- well, wait... let me think about that. What do you guys thinks?

What did you do for Thanksgiving?

I am really glad I met Lizzie, Amy, and Joanna. I really feel blessed and it has changed my life. I am excited to see what our next adventure will be and I will be sad when it's all over. Ok, I don't want to think about that!

Ok, I am off to meet Joanna for some coffee!
    Talk to you all soon.

Welll.. my 4 year old cousin decided that she not only would drop her drink on me this year but decided to take the whole bowl of cranberry sauce.
But she doesn't do it on purpose.
i totally love the show. i wish my friends would read books as much as i do.

i ate way to much for thanksgiving too!

Plain and Simple, but not Boring!

Mocha with extra pump of vanilla and extra whipped cream! Um, no
thanks… that is not coffee. What is the world coming too… its like
nothing can just be simple anymore!

So ever since I gave Miles the signed Keaton guitar I've totally moved
up to cool mom status. He actually asked me if I wanted to go see a
movie with him and his friend the other day! It was one of those
violent action movies, not my kinda flick, so I declined. But at least
he doesn't think I am just old and boring anymore!

I have been visiting Amy at the bakery a lot recently, its no good.
Her cranberry scones are deadly, I need to stop going otherwise I am
going to pack on the pounds. It's hard enough being 40 and hanging
around these pretty girls with their cute little bodies and trendy
    clothes!

Anyway, gotta run for a coffee break. And by coffee I mean black, no
sugar. Just a good ol' cup of Joe.

so jealous you got to meet Keaton!!
I still think you are a cool mom :)

I hear ya Laura! I am a black coffee-no sugar kinda girl as well. Plus, this Starbucks stuff is rediculous, I got some fancy coffee with my friend the other day and it was nearly $5.00! I mean for coffee, thats rediculous!!

    Tell Me You're Over Forty...PLEASE!!!

I'm really tired today.  Those girls take a lot out of me!  Plus, I went grocery shopping, fixed the toilet, and cleaned the bathroom.  I know it doesn't sound like much, but it's a living.  Okay, not really a living, but you know what I mean.

Miles and I just got back from his trumpet lesson.  He's getting pretty good.  He thinks I run errands while he's in there with his teacher, but I actually sit and listen.  I know - so corny - but I love it.  Plus, I get to talk to Mr. Trumpet (obviously not his real name) while Miles packs up his stuff.  This guy is way out of my league - young, good-looking, confident - but hey, a girl can dream.

Ugh.  Lately, I've just been feeling like everyone around me is actually getting younger.  I know it's not possible, but there it is.  Seriously, I don't think there's anyone left on this earth over 30.  And now Lizzie...she's sweet, really.  It's not her fault.  She's just so young.  Oh, God.  I used to hate when people said that to me.  I'm definitely becoming my mother.  Kill me now.

Anyway, I'm gonna go eat some Cherry Garcia and watch Thelma & Louise.  Okay, I actually have to call the cable guy, but I like to keep the dream alive.  Hey, does anyone else like to dream out there?  I'm starting to feel like a freak.  What would you love to be doing right now? I admire who you are and i wish to someday emulate your life!

I'm divorced too and you seem way cooler than all the other ladies I've been dating recently. I love how you're making an effort to connect with your son.
