I'm Joanna, I'm a lawyer, and life is good. I don't mind telling you how it is. If you bullshit me, I'll call you on it...simple as that. I live with my mother, which is almost as bad as it sounds. But I'm not gonna cry about it. It's life...you just gotta live it. And have as much fun as possible while you're doing it. Okay, now I'm starting to sound like a Prozac commercial. I just like to have a good time. And I don't need a man for that. (Yes, I know you're reading this, Mom.)

Our last adventure was quite random. I mean first off, I am still
shocked there is actually such a thing as a gypsy taco truck. (They
were damn good taco's I must admit!) Then, while shoving
my face with a taco I, Joanna Ruiz, Get picked up by a hot British
guy! I mean what kind of girl gets picked up at a taco truck?

I am going out with Liam for dinner later this week and am actually a
bit nervous:D I haven't been on a date in quite some time. I am already
trying to pick out an outfit, but not sure if I should go with a cute
dress or sexy jeans and top. Any advice?

Other than book club life has been a bit crazy lately, work is hectic
and my mom has been even more annoying because it's the holidays and
she always thinks I am unhappy and lonely this time of year. I am
going to wait to tell her about Liam until after the first date. I don't
want to get her hopes up!

Well, going to head off to bed. I just started a great new book, The
Andaman Express by Lorne Gifford. It is a fascinating book so far. I
stayed up until 2am reading it last night!

    Joanna
I'm really pleased I kept you up until 2am after your Taco date! Chilli, hot, British!
If you book club adventure The Andaman Express you're going to need that big SUV to tow the speed boat with. But it's worth it for seat of the pants low flying at 50 knots!

    i agree jeans is better.
you don't want to be over dressed you'll look weird.

and my mom is the same way.. and i'm only 18.
    lol

wear jeans, it much more causal and flirty :)

    Super Jo!

I would make a great superhero, don't ya think? I'm not sure what
exactly I would call myself, maybe Super Jo!
We totally kicked ass in spy school, it was by far my fav book club
adventure with the girls! Amy really surprised me, little Ms. Baker
was quite strong, I must say! It definitely relieved some stress
that's for sure. Between my mom and my job I need some physical
activity to get the stress outta my system!

I didn't really want all the girls knowing about my ex, everyone
always feels so bad for me… like I was some big failure because I got
so close to the alter but never made it all the way. Save the pity, if
it happens it happens but I'm not desperate that's for sure!

So spying on my ex was a random adventure, can't say I thought I would
do that in book club! Ugh, after seeing him in that spa getting a
mani/pedi I wanted to puke. Get a life bud, the last place I would
want to be was getting a mani with him, just think of how uneventful
my life would be if I had gotten married!

No man gets a mani, period.

Anyway, I need to get away and take another adventure of my own. I'm
thinking about somewhere warm. Maybe sky-diving in Australia! Or a
    sailing in Greece! Any suggestions?

oh Jo! I like how you know what you want out of a guy. Never loose that

i kind of like it when a guy is clean cut and gets a manicure- it means he cares and wants to take care of himself

Sailing in Greece sounds good to me.. anything sounds good right now though! NYC is way too cold at the moment :)

i would love to go to Hawaii :)

YOU HAVE TO!!! Check out my profile pick, its me sky diving in Australia! I am an avid sky diver, have you ever been before?

    Totally Awesome, Dude!

Just talked to LM.  That kid has spunk.  She's already talking about what we're going to do next time.  I told her, just wait, you know?  We'll figure it out later.  Chill.

No, I didn't call surfer dude.  If I had a type, he'd be far from it.  He called me "Chiki-ti-tas" and I didn't know if I should be offended or happy.  And he actually said Cowabunga one time.  When he gave me his number, he said maybe we could "graze some za" or something.  Does anyone know what that means?  I don't.  How do you talk to someone like that?

As far as the surfing goes, though, I think I was getting the hang of it.  I think I'm gonna be shaking my ass in those waves more often.  Hey, it's a good ass.  Maybe I'll bring my bikini next time.

Ok.  I gotta go to the gym.  I'm scheduled to kick some trainer booty on the rock wall.  Maybe I'll do more than that with his booty...  What else are those muscle men there for, right?  Hey, I'm not gonna push it, but if he's interested, I wouldn't say no to a little run on that treadmill.

My mother is reading this over my shoulder as I type, so I better sign off so I can tell Mom that SHE NEEDS TO KEEP HER NOSE OUT OF MY BUSINESS!  Thank you, and good night.

The gym, that's awesome. I haven't been to the gym in such a long time. I was with this guy for a while that encouraged me to go on a regular basis, but not so much anymore. Maybe it can be my new years resolution.

I know what you're saying about Lizzie. She's just so eager all the time and its cool, but it looks like you guys are having a tough time with her when she's so enthusiastic. Good luck.

this is a really great book! yeah someone SHOULD start it! :)

I've never read "Eat, Pray, Love" You should start a book club about it and we can chat about it after I read it.

My favorite book is "Eat, Pray, Love" as well! I highly suggest this book, everyone shoudl read it!

This baby has a Turbo 260hp engine just like me. I love to put the top down and cruise all those sexy men on the beach. With the wind in my hair and the engine roaring, I don't need to think about anything but the car, the road, and myself. I am definitely driving my dream car.
