too much tea
posted by GreenyGreg 7 months ago flag My friend drinks a lot of tea and kind of got me into it a little bit. But I'll tell ya, if you drink a few cups of tea a day, you really have to go to the bathroom. I keep getting up and down and up and down! It's just kind of crazy you know? |

Park Slope
posted by ArchieBailey 7 months ago flag I live in Park Slope and there are sooo many cool places to go and get some tea. There is this one place called Gorilla Coffee that actually has really great tea as well. I go there on weekends to just chill hard with some tea. |

“ I wonder how the book got to Guernsey? Perhaps there is some sort of secret homing instinct in books that brings them to their perfect readers.” January 1946: London is emerging from the shadow of the Second World War, and writer Juliet Ashton is looking for her next book subject. Who could imagine that she would find it in a letter from a man she’s never met, a native of the island of Guernsey, who has come across her name written inside a book by Charles Lamb….As Juliet and her new correspondent exchange letters, Juliet is drawn into the world of this man and his friends—and what a wonderfully eccentric world it is. The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society—born as a spur-of-the-moment alibi when its members were discovered breaking curfew by the Germans occupying their island—boasts a charming, funny, deeply human cast of characters, from pig farmers to phrenologists, literature lovers all.Juliet begins a remarkable correspondence with the society’s members, learning about their island, their taste in books, and the impact the recent German occupation has had on their lives. Captivated by their stories, she sets sail for Guernsey, and what she finds will change her forever.Written with warmth and humor as a series of letters, this novel is a celebration of the written word in all its guises, and of finding connection in the most surprising ways. |

time
posted by GreenyGreg 7 months ago flag I love period pieces. It is just so interesting to me what the times were like in the 40's and 50's. Sometimes I wish I would have lived during that time period. Anyway, great read. I would recommend it to anyone. |

ok
posted by ArchieBailey 7 months ago flag This book was okay. Certainly not the best book that the girls read during this season. I the knitting book really rocked. What was everyone's favorite book of the season? |

Germany
posted by bookworm 7 months ago flag I've always been really interested in Germany and this book gave me a little insight into the country's culture. It's a really great place! I was surprised, not that it is great, but just that not many people I know think its so great. |

Societies
posted by AmberLee 7 months ago flag I read this one and really liked it. It was different from all the other books in the series because it was written from a different perspective. It was really good. I wish I was part of their society! |
